Thor Project

Part of beautiful panorama at Thor which Taranis is dedicated to protecting

The Thor Property consists of 27 Crown Patent Claims located northeast of the town of Trout Lake, Southeast British Columbia.  Taranis also has a number of other Mineral tenures in the area that form the remaining land holdings for the area.

Econ GeologyThe nature of mineralization at Thor as well as the surrounding area is important to making future discoveries. Please click on the tab to find out more information.

Rock TypesTaranis has made considerable progress understanding the rock types at Thor - please click this tab to find out more.

"Green Unit"One of the most important rock types found at Thor is the volcaniclastic "Green Unit". Find out more information by clicking on this tab.

Taranis Exploration Results

During the past three years, and especially during the summers of 2007 and 2008, Taranis has conducted extensive drilling and surface sampling programs at Thor. The following links tabulate the results broken down by each of the zones:

  1. True Fissure Zone Drilling and Underground Sampling
  2. Great Northern Zone Zone Drilling & Trenching
  3. St. Elmo / Blue Bell Drilling and Underground Sampling
  4. Broadview Drilling and Underground Sampling

Thor Highlights

  • Historic Ag/Zn/Pb District with high gold content which has received little modern exploration.  Property 100% owned by Taranis Resources Inc.
  • Widespread surface and drill hole mineralization, including old mine dumps that have returned high-grade gold and silver values.

  • Taranis focused a major part of its 2007 efforts on geophysical surveying and identifying new targets outside of the known 5 mine areas. Several major targets were identified from the ground magnetics/VLF and EM-37 surveying, and more information can be found on the following webpage:
